Is it really only Wednesday?

This has really been a crazy week! Aren't they all?

Caroline has camp this week, which she is loving, but it means getting everyone up and ready to drop her off at the bus.. by our old house.. across town.. every morning by 7:45!!!

After the drop off we head home have some breakfast, and get the remaining three ready for swimming lessons..again..across town.

They are all doing really well. I am amazed at what little fish Sam and Emma are turning out to be!

And Jack...check out that form!

This morning it is pouring rain. I feel bad for Caroline, I'm sure she'll be drenched! She assured me they'll still have fun even in the rain!

Because of the rain, there are no swim lessons, which means we finally have a quiet day at home! The kids are excited about having a whole day to play...I will be catching up on laundry and getting everyone packed up for our weekend trip to MN!!!

Jud is in LA for a couple days. I'm very jealous! Although a quiet day at home with three of the best kids around sounds pretty darn good too:)

Oh these kids crack me up! Check out the boys in their new pjs!

Oooops! I guess I was a little off on their sizes! Luckily they didn't seem to mind!

keep on keeping on

This weekend Jud has been out of town on his annual golf weekend, with his old college buddy. I'll admit, when I realized it was THIS weekend, I was pretty freaked out! We have so much to do. SO SO MUCH TO DO! But besides all of the things on my "to do" lists, I feel like my head is just a crazy mess right now, I was a little worried about holding it all together, keeping the fort down, for the four days while he was gone. But I've surprised myself, and actually pulled through the weekend ok.

It definitely helped that I had two fabulous sitters come over on Thursday night to play with the kids while I went to dinner with some great friends! Have I mentioned how I love living so much closer to this gal ? It was really a great night. A much need night. There's definitely something to be said for the power of strong women. All through dinner, through our conversations, I just kept thinking how lucky I am to have such amazing women in my life. All three of them are strong, beautiful, intelligent career women but they are also, mothers, sisters, friends. After spending time with them, I felt recharged in a way. NO, not in the free from exhaustion sort of way, but the I can do this, sort of way.

strong women.

The kids and I went to Green Bay for a quick visit with my parents on Friday, and we brought my adorable niece Caitlin home with us. The kids have just been playing and's been a really great weekend just hanging out, chugging through my many lists, cuddling and watching movies.

So maybe we stayed in jammies well into the day, and I didn't brush my teeth until 1 in the afternoon...I did manage to make my own coffee each morning! I don't know why that's a big deal, but it is. Of course it's not as good as Jud's, but it's something.

The summer so far

Just so another Wordless Wednesday doesn't come before any actual words...

and just in case you thought that I've been keeping the kids cooped up all summer while I paint...

I thought I'd let you know what we've been up to...other than painting! (which is done once the kids are sleeping!)

We have really been loving the new neighborhood! We are much closer to some great friends...

...and we've met lots of new friends too! The kindness of neighbors has been ridiculous! Some new, wonderful friends have really helped ease the stress of the move by having playdates with the kids! A huge relief!

The kids are definitely loving being able to ride their scooters to the park (and friends' houses) and going for bike rides. We've started going for evening walks again. Something we used to do everynight...years ago.

Really, it's been great.

We've found our new favorite picnic spot.

and beach!

we loved it so much we had to go back with swim suits!

They had so much fun in the water...

and the sand....

until they discovered the tadpoles!

and the frogs!

Then of course there was the Jonas Brothers concert!

Caroline was totatly into it!

Jack, not so much!

um, yeah. he pretty much slept through it!

And, you can't have summer without a visit to Bay Beach with the most fabulous cousins around!

Caroline's first ride on the SCAT!!!

Crazy Sam on the swings! (seriously, this is one you MUST click on the picture to see the look on his little face!

Yes, our days are busy!

Caroline and Jack are in! Which is seriously the cutest thing I've ever seen! And swim classes started this week, for all four of the kids!

So, we're settling in quite nicely! Boxes are getting put away. Rooms are getting painted. The kids are having fun! Mission accomplished!

Oh, and by the way, I heard through the grapevine that we now hold the #1 spot on the "unofficial waiting families list"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Right. So that means between all of this craziness, every second, I am alternating feeling nauseous, drifting into space and completely breaking into tears.

so so tired!

wow! This moving stuff really wears a person out! Actually, I think it's more the four kids on summer vacation that are really kicking my butt!

Other than being totally exhausting, everything in our life is going really well...REALLY well!

*My dad is doing really GREAT! He is actually going golfing tomorrow!!! This is his first time out, since he got so sick, I think it's a great sign of how he's starting to feel more back to normal.

*Adoption stuff is moving right along...still waiting. Last month we hit the TWELVE month mark. yipee.(can you sense my sarcasm?)

*We are getting settled into the new house. Although because the kids are off of school, we've been busy doing fun stuff so I've only gotten 2 rooms painted! There are boxes of stuff everywhere and I have no idea where to put them, so I'm pretending I don't see them. This seems to be working.

*Caroline made a new friend!!!

All is right with the world!
